Christmas Photos

December 11th 2009 - The kids at Nido are all dressed up to to celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas season. We continue to ask for prayer and support for the kids.  Check out the new photos.

Nido Chapel Update: Aug 2009

The new chapel is coming along, but we need more partners to complete the project. This side of the chapel will be used as the Nuevo Nacimiento Church. One of the items still need to finish the project is windows. The members of this new church are donating a special offering to put the floor in this part of the chapel.

This part of the chapel, where Larry is standing, is the floor where the medical and dental rooms will be, for outreach ministries to the community.

Please continue to pray for this project and that we will have partners come along to continue the development of this project.

Just a Trip

Larry came back from Guatemala, since at this time we have a host family taking care of business there in our place. We plan to go back on March 15th. At that time we will be hitting the ground running. We will be getting the Christian School ready to move it. April 15th is the planned date for the move. Classes are already in session at the old school building and the teachers are encouraged and excited about the opportunity to minister to the children and parents of Solola. Our little trip was a spur of the moment decision. We decided to drive to Niagara Falls. We left on Wed. and came back Monday. What a trip. Not that far 1100 + miles. It was cold, but 72 degrees in the car. Comfort Inn's and good food along the way. We could not see the falls very well from the New York side, so we were able to pass over to Ontario, Canada. We ate our late lunch in Skylon and took lots of pictures. The next day we started back to Kansas. The falls were awesome, and unforgettable. We are so glad we went and thank the Lord for our health, and traveling mercies and for the R&R.
What can be done with $$$ ?

Prayers were answered as we started off the new year with funds to keep the construction moving along faster than we had hoped. Our faith is sometimes weak. God is so good to know how to encourage us and other missionaries on the foreign field. If you can get involved with short term missions your world will be shaken. Shaken in a good way. Sometime God shakes to wake people up to the needs in other parts of the world. Guatemala's quake of 1976 helped guide us to Guatemala. We had one again this week, 6.0, but no damage reported. Please consider making a difference somewhere in the world. You are always welcome in our world.

The Eagle's Nest Chapel is coming along. The ground floor is progressing and we want to thank you for the funds given for the basement of the Chapel to be used for ministry. The concrete base is down and the tile is bought for the downstairs. God helped us reach our goal for this floor project. We praise the Lord for each sacrifice you have made in order to see this project goal reached. Thank you so much. Reaching this goal will help us complete the necessary rooms which will be used for the Nuevo Nacimiento Baptist Church at Nido, worship and Sunday School. During the week the Nuevo Dia school will be holding classes to make this a complete ministry building. The tiles for the basement will be laid next week. The school is going to meet in their older building, starting Jan 15th, until the new building is completed. Hopefully they can move by the end of March. STILL NEEDED: Carpenters, and dry wall workers and iron workers to get all the divisions made and the space completed for the 80 children and the multitude of neighbors who need the Lord. And as always, money for the supplies of these divisions. If you can help please contact us. We have a phone for international calls now and it is just like calling Kansas from anywhere in the USA. So if you need to call. The number is 1-316-243-0157.

Who is the Eagle's Nest?

The Eagle's Nest is a non-profit ministry established to help care for orphans. We currently support Nido del Aguila, an orphanage in Guatemala.

How can I help the Eagle's Nest?

There are many ways to get involved and make a difference.
